Interested in becoming a member?​

 

​Membership runs for the calendar year from January through December. We hold meetings once a month on the third Thursday through October (We take November and December off for the holidays).

A one-year membership includes:

• Guest speakers and lecturers - up to 9 speakers annually on a variety of topics. Check out the Meetings and Events tab for schedule and topics.

• Members have the option to participate in meetings via Zoom!

• Networking - meet other people passionate about lepidoptera and preserving their habitat.

• Pot-luck dinner and fundraising raffle to raise monies to be awarded to community native butterfly gardens via SEMBA's garden grant program. 

• Member only garden walks

• Quarterly newsletters

• Volunteer opportunities: ​

  • Barson Butterfly Habitat - 6414 Merriman, Westland

    • June - August 

    • 2 to 4 hours/week​

    • Educate visitors

    • Caterpillar and chrysalis giveaway

  • 3B's - 8500 Flamingo Blvd., Westland

    • April - October 10am to 1pm (weather permitting)​

    • No experience necessary

    • Weeding/mulching/planting

• Members can bring one guest for free per year.
